垄东村位于凤岗街道城区西南侧，距城区约3公里。村子东面与大洲村交界，东南与南面临沙溪河，西南、西面与北面则与水美、三姑、龙坑等村相邻。村域面积约7.83平方千米，辖3个村民小组，村内没有自然村。[1]
村名的来历是此地在大垄田东边建村。[2]
地形与资源[edit]
村子是海拔180米的盆地。南部山体为火山岩，岩性为潜石英正长斑岩，历来有零星开采，是搭桥铺路和建材加工的好石料。村内建有小（二）型水库和小山塘各一座。[1]
森林覆盖率77.1%，林地8697亩。村内耕地466亩，其中94%为水田。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
栖云寺始建于五代闽王延政时期，距城区1.5公里，1985年重修，是沙县区四大名古寺之一。深藏于生态林中的官岩瀑布落差80米，常年有水。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
明清时为九都大垅东村；民国时隶属大垅乡的垅东保，1940年改归富溪乡。建国后，此地先后是垄东乡、公社与大队的驻地，2003年起归凤岗街道。[2]
