古县村位于凤岗街道北部，在沙溪北岸、“十里平流”河段的下游，村子所在地形如伸入河中的半岛。村域面积7.03平方千米，辖5个村民小组。[1]

村名因古时为沙县旧县治所在地而得。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

博雅地名网载，唐中和四年（884年）县府迁至此地，此后这里被留作村民居住地，俗称「旧院」。该网站所列沙村县治的年代，东晋义熙年间与刘宋元嘉年间两说并存，此处未作取舍。[2]

宋代此地属南剑州沙县新昌乡感义里，元代属延平路沙县新昌乡崇善团。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

村内遗存的古迹有城隍庙、古榕抱古樟、老渡口、射箭坪和仙奶庙。村子也被列为区政府重点旅游区建设项目之一。[1]

村民姓氏共有52种，人口前五位的姓氏占全村人口的65%。[1]

村内林地5110亩，森林覆盖率47.2%，耕地180亩。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年12月，村庄被命名为「2021年度福建省森林村庄」；2022年10月，被福建省农业农村厅认定为「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」；2024年1月，被命名为「2023年福建省卫生村」。[2]
