府前社区位于沙县区城区中部，是凤岗街道下辖的社区，区域以商贸和居住为主，也是政治、文化活动较集中的地方。社区东界在建国路西侧，西界靠近三官堂路东侧；南面临沙溪河，北面是铁路。面积0.5平方千米。[1]

社区名称来自县政府驻地就在社区办公所在地前面。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

解放后，此地为沙县城关镇的二街革命领导小组所在。1979年改称二街居民委员会，1981年改为府西居民委员会。[2]

荣誉[edit]

府前社区先后获得全国、省、市多项荣誉，其中有省级环境友好社区、省级科普示范社区和市级文明社区等称号。[1]

2024年1月，社区被命名为「2023年福建省卫生社区」；2024年12月，社区上榜「2024年福建省儿童友好社区」名单。[2]
