地名由来[edit]
据传古时一户姓罗的人家有一头耕牛钻入地下，一年后牛料山上现出洞穴，洞边生出奇异的竹子，村名由此而来。[1]
地理环境[edit]
村庄海拔673米，行政面积1.8平方公里。林地27086亩，其中毛竹山1700亩；耕地1980亩。[2]
人口民族[edit]
博雅地名网记全村319户1321人，未注统计年份；全村下辖7个自然村。[2]
名胜古迹[edit]
深坑岭位于村后山。1934年5月，红七军团在第五次反「围剿」期间驻扎湖源、筠竹一带，在深坑岭与国民党军80师239旅交战。红军借村民带路，分两路迂回至敌军侧后，此役据百度百科记歼灭该旅近两千人，《红色中华》报道称之为「整旅覆灭」。[3][4]
历史沿革[edit]
历史上此地曾属沙县管辖，1940年成立三元县后归属三元。1950年初获解放后，此地归县第三区，称筠竹乡。[1]
公社化后划入中村公社，设筠竹大队；1983年此地设中村办事处下的筠竹村，1987年撤办事处建乡，筠竹村改设村民委员会沿用至今。[1]
文化[edit]
荣誉方面，本村2024年1月获「2023年福建省卫生村」称号，2024年7月入选「2023年度三明市达标“六无”村（社区）」名单。[1]
