中村乡位于福建省三明市三元区东南部，全乡地形南北狭长，北段为头、南段为尾。乡境山林广阔，森林覆盖率据乡政府网站所载达86%，是三明市的重点林区之一，当地素有「绿色宝库」的说法。[1]

乡内以东牙溪为主要河流，境内既有1934年红军战斗与游击据点的遗迹，也有宋至明时期的中村窑遗址。[1][2][4]

历史沿革[edit]

1940年左右，这片地方在行政上归三元县管辖，分作杜筠与松阳两个乡。[3]

新中国成立以后，这里先由居阳公所管理，之后归入第三区公所。1958年组建了群峰人民公社，1959年驻地自居阳搬到中村，公社随之改名。[2]

1983年这里先是中村办事处；1987年8月街道办撤销，原辖区域改设为乡。[2][3]

近年较新的荣誉是2023年福建省卫生乡镇（2024年1月命名）与第三批高级版绿盈乡镇（2023年2月公布）。乡政府网站另载，全乡曾多次获省级文明村镇、省级绿色乡镇等称号，2022年列为第二批省级乡村治理示范乡。[1][2]

环境保护部于2012年12月授予中村乡「2010—2011年度国家级生态乡镇」称号。[2]

地理环境[edit]

乡政府所在地海拔360.3米。面积一项各书所记不同：乡政府网站为201.5平方公里，百度百科为194.44平方千米，均未标注统计年份。[1][3]

南北纵长17.2公里，东西横宽11.7公里；森林面积22万亩。东牙溪是主要河流，干流30余公里，其支流遍布全乡16个建制村。[1]

东牙溪水库动工于1989年，1993年建成启用。2001年，全乡被定为三明市饮用水源保护区，肩负保护市区约40万人饮水安全的责任。[1]

人口民族[edit]

乡政府网站所载户数3702户、人口13882人，未注年份；百度百科另记2019年末户籍人口15053人。两者时间与口径均不同，此处并列。[1][3]

名胜古迹[edit]

松阳八鹭塔位于松阳村山丘上，明天启元年（1621年）建成，为七层实心石塔。[5]

深坑岭在筠竹村后山，是红七军团于1934年5月在第五次反「围剿」期间打的一场硬仗的所在地。[6]

大众山游击据点在大焙坑村东约300米，1944年前后闽西北游击队在这里设立新据点。[7]

红军无名烈士冢在杜水村老村部后，埋葬的是三名在红七军团转移途中伤重牺牲的战士。[8]

中村窑遗址分布在回瑶村一带的山岗坡地上，烧造时代自宋至明。国务院在2013年3月公布的第七批全国重点文物保护单位名录中列有该窑址（百度百科）。[9]

著名人物[edit]

北宋人谢佑原居今白水畲族村一带，后迁居梅列区列西。乡民为其建祠奉祀，宋孝宗曾赐庙额「正顺」。[10]
