村里一度引进纽荷尔脐橙新品种，种植面积达2000多亩，并注册了“竹洲”牌脐橙商标。[2]
2004年，本村种植的脐橙获国家无公害脐橙基地认证。[2]
村内另有竹制品加工，村民也通过鲜笋销售和竹制品加工增加收入。[1]
