荆东社区是福建省三明市三元区荆西街道下辖的社区，属主城区，位于沙溪河东岸。[1][4]

历史沿革[edit]

1980年，荆西镇改设荆西街道办事处，经闽政〔1980〕334号文批复，同时设立荆东居民委员会。[1]

2002年，荆东社区居民委员会成立，此后沿用至今。[1]

地名的来历是旧时这一带紫荆花茂盛，社区又在沙溪河东岸。[1]

荣誉方面，荆东社区获「2022年福建省卫生社区」称号，授予单位为福建省爱国卫生运动委员会，时间为2022年12月；2024年7月，社区被命名为「2023年度三明市达标“六无”村（社区）」，并被确定为「2021-2023年三明市达标“六无”村（社区）」。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

垂裕祠在荆东社区，位于三明学院北区食堂的后侧。该祠始建于南宋嘉定七年（1214年），明嘉靖三十六年（1557年）重建。2005年5月11日，垂裕祠被列入福建省第六批文物保护单位。[2][3]

祠后的山坡上是邓克谐夫妻合葬墓，同属荆东社区境内。[2]
