荆西街道是福建省三明市三元区下辖的街道，位于三明市区以南的城乡结合部，距市区约8千米。辖区内有三明学院，沙溪河流经此地，鹰厦铁路在这里设有荆西站。[1][2][3]

历史沿革[edit]

1972年12月起，这一带属荆西镇。1980年4月，荆西镇撤销，原镇内的居民区析出后设立荆西街道。[2][4]

2020年6月，城东乡撤销，乡里的荆西村与荆东村改由本街道管辖。[3]

荣誉方面，本街道2019年度在「五比五晒」项目竞赛活动中获二等奖，2018年度获平安先进街道二等奖，2018至2020年度被评为省级文明单位，2021年度为市五四红旗团委，2022年度为市基层「五好」关工委。[1]

地理环境[edit]

街道地处三明市区南部，东面与中村乡相邻，南面和西面与莘口镇交界，2020年前北面与城东乡接壤。东西向最宽处1千米，南北向最长处3千米。[4]

沙溪河流经辖区，荆西社区在河的西岸，荆东社区在河的东岸；两个社区的地名都与当地多紫荆花、位于沙溪河两岸有关。[2]

人口民族[edit]

2011年末，街道总人口为17910人。[4] 三元区政府网的街道介绍则给出：在流动人口之外，户籍人口是3915人；流动人口为1.53万人，三明学院师生占其中1.4万人。该介绍未注明统计时点，总人口以1.96万人计。[1]

文化[edit]

博雅地名网列出的本街道特产有「绿壳蛋」、「金柑」、「熏鸭」、「泥鳅粉」、「三明翠碧一号烤烟」和「三元草珊瑚」。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

垂裕祠在荆东一带，始建于南宋嘉定七年（1214年），明嘉靖三十六年（1557年）重建，明万历及清道光、同治年间又曾修缮。大堂为悬山顶，面阔五间。2005年5月11日，垂裕祠被公布为第六批福建省文物保护单位。[2][5]

祠后的山坡上是邓克谐夫妻合葬墓，墓为宋代原型墓，作为垂裕祠的附属文物。[2][5]
