菜溪村是菜溪乡下辖的行政村，位于乡政府驻地以西约2.9公里处，村委会设在北溪。全村辖北溪、长溪、中溪3个自然村，共532户、2054人（据博雅地名网）。[1]

村名的来历与唐代僧人智广有关：智广曾在此结庐修行，村民见溪中漂着野菜叶，溪因此得名。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

新中国成立前，此地属浔阳乡。之后划入第六、第九、第十四区，又归石苍区，1956年隶社硎区，1958年属象溪区，1961年归象溪公社。1985年设立菜溪村民委员会，隶属象溪乡；2009年2月，村随乡名改称菜溪。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

菜溪岩风景区位于村境内，属国家4A级旅游景区，景区以火山岩地貌为基底。据百度百科，景区于2018年12月升格为国家4A级。[4]

菜溪郑侨状元祠在郑侨自然村，为仙游县第四批县级文物保护单位。[5]

菜溪岩寺位于菜溪岩风景区内，为仙游县第一批县级文物保护单位。[6]

荣誉[edit]

2020年12月，村入选「2020年福建省森林村庄」。2021年3月，村被确定为「莆田市第十五届市级文明村镇（社区）」。2022年12月，经省爱卫会命名，村列为「2022年福建省卫生村」。2024年6月，村上榜「福建省第四批高级版绿盈乡村」。[1]
