北象山村是菜溪乡下辖的行政村，位于乡政府驻地西南约1.5公里处，村委会设在象坑。全村辖洋边、象坑、南溪3个自然村，据博雅地名网，总人口1370人。[1]

村名来自一座形似大象的山；村又位于县城的北部，1981年定名为北象山。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

新中国成立前，此地属浔阳乡。此后曾归第六区、第九区、第十四区，并先后在石苍区、社硎区与象溪区的辖下，1961年划归象溪公社。1984年设立北象山村民委员会，隶属象溪乡；2009年2月起称菜溪乡。[3]

名胜古迹[edit]

北象山陈氏忠祠位于象坑自然村，始建于明代中期，清代重建，为单廊院式建筑，前后有前厅、正厅和东西护厢。该祠2024年4月列为仙游县第十批县级文物保护单位。[4][5]

北象山陈氏孝祠位于南溪自然村，为仙游县一般不可移动文物点。村内的陈健山墓位于南溪自然村虎头山，也属该类文物点。[4]

荣誉[edit]

2022年12月，经省爱卫会命名，村列为「2022年福建省卫生村」。[1]
