菜溪乡是福建省莆田市仙游县下辖的一个乡，位于县境中北部的山区，辖有象星、黄洋、园宅、北象山、溪边、菜溪、石满、石峰8个行政村。[1][7]

乡境地处戴云山脉东南麓，最著名的景致是菜溪岩风景区，该景区为国家4A级旅游景区。乡名取自境内的菜溪村。[8][5]

2019年末，全乡户籍人口为11726人。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

唐代至宋初，此地属游洋镇。宋太平兴国四年（979年）至明正统十二年（1447年），隶属兴化县福兴里；明正统十三年（1448年）起改属兴泰里。清代，此地又称永贵乡兴泰里后坑岭下。[3]

1936年，象溪一带归仙游县浔阳乡，分为象溪、菜溪、石满三个保。新中国成立后，先后隶属第九区、第十四区、石苍区和社硎区，1958年归象溪区，1961年底设立象溪人民公社。[3][4]

1984年12月，象溪公社改为象溪乡，辖8个行政村。[1] 此名沿用至2009年2月，改称菜溪乡。维基百科记更名日期为2008年12月31日，与博雅地名网不同，此处取博雅地名网所载的日期。[3][2]

地理环境[edit]

乡境北面与西苑乡相邻，东侧与石苍乡、钟山镇接壤，南侧连着榜头镇，西南方向与社硎乡交界。全乡行政区域面积为79.03平方千米。[1]

菜溪岩一带以火山岩地貌为基底，峭壁、峡谷、瀑布与火山天池错落相连，主峰铁尖山海拔1393.4米。[8]

名胜古迹[edit]

菜溪岩风景区位于菜溪村境内，景区内有心动石、雷轰瀑布、御棺、卧牛石和石钟等自然景观，另有状元洞、浔阳书院遗址等人文遗迹。据百度百科，景区于2018年12月升格为国家4A级旅游景区。[8][6]

菜溪岩寺在菜溪岩风景区内，为仙游县第一批县级文物保护单位。[6][14]

菜溪郑侨状元祠在菜溪村郑侨自然村，该祠属仙游县第四批县级文物保护单位。[6][11]

北象山陈氏忠祠在北象山村象坑自然村，始建于明代中期，清代重建，单廊院式建筑，2024年4月列为仙游县第十批县级文物保护单位。[6][10]

溪边廊桥在溪边村，建于清道光年间，1848年建成，1964年曾重修。它是单孔木拱廊桥，别称「闽中独丁」。[9]

象星岳王庙在象星村洋头自然村，主祀岳飞、岳雷、岳云等人。该庙于明代中叶始建，清代重新修建，1993年又加修缮，2013年5月被列入仙游县第八批县级文物保护单位。[6]

革命旧址[edit]

抗战时期，中共闽中特委的机关曾设在溪边村过埔自然村，此处为其驻地之一。旧址为三层土木结构的三间厢民居，2011年12月由莆田市委党史研究室立碑保护。[12][6]

象星村山尾自然村有一座两层土木民居，即闽中游击纵队驻地旧址。1947年5月，该纵队在仙游兴太里一带活动时曾住在这里。[13][6]
