仙头村在社硎乡西南部，离县城约30公里，离乡政府约7公里。村内分仙头、泗坑、山前三个自然村，设8个村民小组；土地面积约8平方千米，海拔均值630米。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

相传古时此地原叫山头村，因山头的岩石上有神仙的脚印和字迹，村民为求神仙庇护，改名仙头。[1]

1950年归五区，次年改属八区，1956年划入社硎区，1958年为社硎大队下的仙头生产组。1983年改属社硎乡仙头村，1992年设立仙头村村民委员会。[1]
