村委会设在坑门，村域由林学、坑门、顶厝三个自然村构成，离社硎乡政府驻地约2.7公里，位于其西南方向。村子是革命老区村。[1]

村民以耕种水稻、地瓜为主，耕地约300亩，山地约4440亩，以松树为主，并产枇杷。村里设有一所卫生所。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

相传明朝时，县官去拜访一位在京城任职的官员，官员不在家，县官白跑了一趟。“白走”音近“白硎”，村名由此而来。[1]

村落始建于宋代。旧时隶属兴安乡。1950年归五区，次年改属八区，1956年划入社硎区，1958年成为社硎公社的白硎生产大队。1984年设白硎村村民委员会，隶属社硎乡。[1]

文化[edit]

2020年11月，白硎村被认定为「2020年度莆田市中级版“绿盈乡村”」。村内水潭溪边有佛光亭。[1]
