石苍村隶属福建省莆田市仙游县石苍乡，位于乡域中部，为石苍乡人民政府所在地，东邻五湖村，南毗石阳村，西接潭头村，北与田坑村交界。村名取自境内两座古庙名的首字。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

村内古时有石灵宫与过仓宫两座宫庙，各取一字组成“石仓”，后因山林茂盛、四季常青，把“仓”写作“苍”。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

村史可上溯到唐代。宋时隶属兴化县福兴里，明正统十三年改归仙游县兴泰里管辖。民国时期本地称石苍保。[3]

1951年，本村所在地设立了石苍乡人民政府；1984年村委会成立。[3]

地理与人口[edit]

全村面积10.38平方千米，海拔440米；人口3536人，分居1013户，男性1877，女性1659。村下设7个自然村，分15个村民小组。[1]

山地有18603亩，林地12254亩，另有耕地938亩。村民种植蘑菇、香菇，并栽植枇杷、柑橘、板栗、梨、柚子等果树。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

村内有明末的桥尾亭，又有石灵宫、郭仓宫、大份社与尼姑庵，另有字纸亭及官氏古民居。[1]

蓬山书院与溪兴宫、苍灵宫、玉石书院、贤明堂、通明堂，历史悠久，据博雅地名网称颇具文物价值。另有清乾隆三十三年建造的张嘉墓碑，碑上刻双龙图案。[1]
