五湖村隶属福建省莆田市仙游县石苍乡，位于乡域东南部，东与游洋镇双峰村相邻，南邻钟山镇，距乡政府约3公里。村境以五湖溪穿山间盆地而过，是革命老区基点村。[1][2]

地理环境[edit]

村民多住在英山脚下的山间盆地里，英山海拔851米，位于村南。五湖溪自英山与双尖山之间发源，穿过盆地，将其分为南北两半，盆地东南高、西北低。[1]

先民沿溪修筑了十座拦水坝，灌溉着千亩良田。英山至双尖山的山脉绵延十多里，多被竹林与树林覆盖。[1]

面积方面，全村占地11.17平方公里；林地16785亩，耕地1798亩。[1]

古迹有宋代的五峰寺和芳洋古军垦遗址；英山寨与仓兜寨之外，另有院里寺，真武殿与章氏祠堂、广福宫、石崙寨，以及佛公桥与佛公殿。[1]

村境还有狮头岩、乌石岩等可登临之处，考垅自然村附近的观音石与将军城等天然景观，也常为游人前往。[1]
