地名由来[edit]
早年村前有一湖，村民开族定居，坐东朝西，村委会在湖的东侧上方，因而称为顶东湖。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
明代此地属永泰县嵩口29都。新中国成立前属凤顶乡，其后在五区、八区、十五区、西苑区、社硎区与柳园区之间多次调整。1961年归凤山公社，1985年设立顶东湖村村民委员会，隶属凤山乡。2002年10月，凤山乡撤并，本村改属西苑乡。[1]
文化[edit]
昭灵宫位于村内，始建于明代中期，1984年12月重修，是建在石构平台上的单体建筑。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2024年1月，顶东湖村被命名为「2023年福建省卫生村」。[1]
