地名由来[edit]
原名后县，后因与凤山村墓前自然村合并为一村，改称前县。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
明代，村民从莆田涵江迁来，在此开基立族。新中国成立前属凤顶乡；此后在五区、八区、十五区、西苑区与社硎区之间多次调整，1959年归西苑公社，1961年改属凤山公社。1985年设立前县村村民委员会，隶属凤山乡。2002年，凤山乡并入西苑乡，本村随之归西苑乡。[1]
自然环境[edit]
村内山地面积大，盛产苦笋。境内有铁尖山、牛屎塔山等山峰，构成主要自然景观。[1][2]
荣誉[edit]
2020年11月，本村入选「2020年度莆田市中级版绿盈乡村」。2024年1月，被命名为「2023年福建省卫生村」。[1][2]
