西苑村是西苑乡人民政府的驻地所在村，东面与岭峰、卓林、修园相邻，西面连接半岭、仙东、仙西。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

宋代此地归德乡下辖的乐输里管理，明代改属兴贤里。1936年一度属凤顶保，1940年至1941年先后隶属三区的万贤里与凤顶乡。1944年才设立西苑保。1950年，本村与半岭合为一乡，归度尾七区。此后归十五区，1955年改设西苑区。1958年9月，本地并入西苑人民公社，成为其下的西苑生产大队。1984年11月，设村民委员会，村属西苑乡。[3]

名胜古迹[edit]

大杉下自然村的千年杉木，已列入县级文物保护。村内古代民居、祠堂与官庙不少，规模较大。[2]

村域山地广阔，以产杉木和竹为主。[2]
