半岭村位于西苑乡政府驻地西侧，地处戴云山南麓，下辖顶尾坪、下坝坪、石马头3个自然村。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

旧时这里是路途的中段，往来行人多在此留宿，次日才能赶往枣坑，于是得名半岭。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

民国年间，因村形状像鼎，村名最初叫作「半鼎」；此地又曾是德化村民的落脚处，后才改为半岭。新中国成立前属凤顶乡，此后历经五区、七区、十五区、度尾区与西苑区等划分，1961年归西苑公社。1958年设半岭大队，其后设立村民委员会，隶属西苑乡。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2024年1月，半岭村被命名为「2023年福建省卫生村」。[1]
