历史沿革[edit]
清代以后，此地隶属露头片。民国十七年，鲁头划归古邑乡管理。[2]
解放前仍属古邑乡；1949年之后划为兴山片，归仙游县管理。之后先后划入第6区、第10区，1956年改属麦斜区。[2]
1958年10月，初级社、高级社改组为游洋人民公社，村内设鲁头大队；1984年设村民委员会，隶属游洋乡；1992年游洋乡改制为镇。[2]
地理环境[edit]
村境冬暖夏湿，无霜期长达325天，降水量在1600毫米以上，年平均气温为摄氏18.7度。森林覆盖率为60%。[3]
村境水力资源丰富，主要溪流有三溪口与汪洋溪，建有一座二级水力发电站，装机容量1200千瓦。[3]
物产[edit]
粮食作物以水稻为主，经济作物有橄榄、枇杷，另产香菇。村里还有林木加工、果品加工与淡水养殖。[3]

2024年1月，鲁头村被命名为「2023年福建省卫生村」。[2]
