南湖村是钟山镇下辖的行政村，村境较为分散，村中有一处中共闽南特委遗址。[1]

村名沿自明末一支开族先民的旧居：他们从浙江嘉兴南湖迁来，为纪念祖籍，沿用了「南湖」之名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

解放前此地属鲤湖乡。1950年至1951年间经历六区到九区的调整，1956年并入麦斜区，1958年改属钟山公社。[1]

1960年，这一带曾合为「南湖片」，1963年经县里批准拆分为三个行政村；南湖村的村民委员会于1984年设立，归钟山乡领导。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

中共闽南特委遗址位于村内的上岭自然村。闽南特委是在1939年7月的省委首届代表大会后，由三个中心县委并入而设立的，该遗址属革命旧址。[1]
