后林村位于大济镇南部，多为丘陵，东南部的佛光山是全村海拔最高处，海拔246米。村名由明万历年间迁入的林姓所取。[1]

地理环境[edit]

境内多丘陵，地势东南高、西北低，佛光山海拔246米，为村域最高点。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明万历年间（1572年—1620年），林氏从邻近的村庄迁入此地。最初以林姓的郡望号「瑶林」称呼，后改为「后林」，沿用至今。[1]

民国时称会庄保，隶善化镇；解放前归善化乡。1950年转入第六区（大济），1956年改属城关区，1958年9月起隶大济人民公社。1984年设后林村村民委员会，归大济乡。[1][2]

经济[edit]

2023年11月，村庄被认定为「2023年度莆田市中级版绿盈乡村」。[2]

文化[edit]

后林八卦亭位于顶头自然村，为仙游县一般不可移动文物点，保护范围为建筑本体四周各向外延伸5米。[1]
