北山村位于大济镇西南部，是一个海拔700多米的山区村，下辖3个自然村。村名来自其地处龙华镇北部山区的位置。[1]

地理环境[edit]

村域多为山地，耕地分散在深山密林之间，林地连片，松林、杉林、竹林与杂木林交错分布。[1]

人口民族[edit]

2010年统计：479户，共1934人；男女分别为1022与912人。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

中华人民共和国成立初期，这里称北山乡，属仙游第六区（大济）；1950年归大济区，1956年归城关区。1958年改称北山大队，归大济人民公社。[1]

1984年起设北山村村民委员会，隶属大济乡。[1][2]

经济[edit]

2024年9月，村庄被认定为「2024年莆田市一村一品专业村」，主导产业为蛋鸡养殖。[1]

北山南林寺在金刚山上，属仙游县一般不可移动文物点，四周各留3米的保护范围。[2]

北山祖师墓位于金刚山顶，是一处古墓葬，列为仙游县一般不可移动文物点，以墓丘为中心外延15米划定保护范围。[2]
