后蔡村是福建省莆田市仙游县园庄镇下辖的行政村，位于镇政府驻地以北，村委会设在大黄自然村。[1]

村名源于蔡姓：此地原为蔡姓居住之处，蔡姓外迁后，他姓迁入，便以蔡姓命名，称作后蔡。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

中华人民共和国成立前，村地属慈孝乡；1950年划入第三区，1951年改属十二区，1956年归枫亭区。1958年村地设后蔡大队，归园庄公社管辖。1984年成立后蔡村委会，隶属园庄乡，1995年园庄撤乡设镇。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

村内的后蔡吴清光大厝是一般不可移动文物点，文物的保护范围以墙体为界，向外各延伸十米。[1]

白侯山古寨墙遗址在村域东北部，同时隶属后蔡村与塔兜村。寨墙沿地势由西南向东北逐渐降低，毛石砌筑，总长三公里多，保存较好的部分约两公里多。[1]

镇域内的新石器时代遗址位于后蔡村，是镇概况中提到的重要古迹之一。[2]

产业[edit]

村内耕地主种水稻、甘蔗、甘薯与花生，山地以马尾松为主，间有龙眼等果树。[1]
