园庄镇是福建省莆田市仙游县下辖的一个镇，位于县境南部，东侧与枫亭镇接壤，南侧邻近泉州市泉港区的涂岭镇，西侧与洛江区罗溪镇相望，北侧连着赖店镇。[1]
全镇面积82.52平方千米，2019年末户籍人口60251人；辖区内设1个社区和16个行政村。[1]
镇名的来历与古园有关：古时这里的村庄建在大埔一带的古园旁，称作园头庄。1940年6月，仙游县撤销慈孝里、设第二区，当时定名园头庄，因名称不顺口，去掉“头”字，改称园庄。[2]
地理环境[edit]
境内多山地，矿产有铬、锌、汞、铜、高岭土与辉绿岩，矿泉水资源较为丰富。枫园、仙园与福厦公路穿境而过。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
宋元时期这一带属唐安乡，明清时期归慈孝里管辖，民国时期则属慈孝乡。[2]
中华人民共和国成立后，园庄地区先后隶属第十二区、园庄区和第三区（枫亭）。1958年9月组建人民公社，此后在1984年12月转为乡建制，直到1995年才改设为镇。[1][2]
1955年，惠安县的义路、岭北、六户、东坪四个村划归仙游县，先后归枫亭区管辖，1958年前后并入园庄公社。博雅地名网各村页所记的划归月份并不一致，此处不取月份。[3][6]
2011年4月，环境保护部授予园庄镇国家级生态乡镇称号；2024年1月，园庄镇获得「2023年福建省卫生乡镇」称号。[2]
经济[edit]
农业以水稻、甘蔗和水果为主，村页中多提到的果树有龙眼与枇杷，另有茶叶。[2][8]
名胜古迹[edit]
镇域内的古迹与遗址较多：大埔一带留有明代的抗倭城墙，后蔡村有新石器时代遗址，东石村保存着一座清代方形土楼，高峰村则有青龙寺。[2][5]
土楼村的溪尾山遗址列为县级文物保护单位，宫兜村有宫兜郑氏新厝，霞山村则有黄庆云故居等古建筑。[4][8][9]
东石土楼由东里人郑珠甫为防备山寇而建，落成于1710年，即清康熙四十九年，平面方形，高三层。[10][11]
革命旧址[edit]
1934年至1949年间，慈孝地区的党组织开展了多次群众动员与武装斗争，遗留下一批旧址。东坪村三台龙有交通站旧址，霞山村山兜有破仓分粮旧址，高峰村大埔有城战斗旧址，义路村前湖有联络站旧址，洋尾村前厝有玉井宫群众大会会址。[3][4][5][6][7]
