前连村位于盖尾镇东部，东靠云顶山，北临木兰溪，共26个村民小组，村民以连姓为主。[1]
地名由来[edit]
连氏先祖原自山西上党迁至湖坂黄畲，生三子，长子迁居前连阿头，村名由此而来。“前”字取家业发展进步之意。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
宋代至民国时期，此地属仙游县盖尾社的前连保。新中国成立后，先后设前连大队与前连村革命委员会，1984年改设前连村民委员会，隶属盖尾乡，1992年属盖尾镇。[3]
名胜古迹[edit]
前连连氏祠堂位于尾厝自然村，始建于南宋末年，明代重修，清代重建，为仙游县第八批县级文物保护单位，并于2011年被省文化厅公布为涉台文物。前连昭灵宫同列为县级文物。[1][4]
