盖尾村位于盖尾镇中部，北靠木兰溪，由史厝、盖尾街与高峰三个自然村组成。历史上这里是全镇的政治、经济与文化中心。[1]

地名由来[edit]

此地原名观美，取雅观美观之意。民国时期，一名邮差把“观美”误写作“盖尾”，此名沿用下来。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

此村曾是镇址所在地，2000年镇址迁至三郊线旁的宝峰村一带。[1]

1984年改设盖尾村民委员会，隶属盖尾乡，1992年属盖尾镇。[3]

名胜古迹[edit]

盖尾村的龙山庙东侧立有“陈安钱粮”碑，属仙游县一般不可移动文物点。[4]
