莲井村位于盖尾镇西南部，北面临木兰溪，地域面积约1.96平方公里，下辖12个自然村。[1]

地名由来[edit]

相传村中有一口井，井边每年都开莲花，村因此得名莲井。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

新中国成立前此地属香北乡林井，1958年归盖尾公社，1984年改设莲井村民委员会，隶属盖尾乡；1992年属盖尾镇。[3]

经济[edit]

村民以农业为主，种植甘蔗、水稻、大豆、花生与地瓜，果树有龙眼、枇杷、芒果与橄榄。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

外头自然村的莲井李氏祖居为古建筑，属仙游县一般不可移动文物点。[1]

文化[edit]

2021年3月，该村被确定为「莆田市第十五届市级文明村镇（社区）」。2024年1月，该村入选「2023年福建省卫生村」。[1]
