瑞沟村位于盖尾镇西南部，在木兰溪南岸，地域面积约5.54平方公里，下辖8个自然村。[1]

地名由来[edit]

相传宋代时有一条海水沟流经此地，故名水沟。后因“水”与“瑞”方言同音，雅化为瑞沟。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

新中国成立前，此地属城南乡。1950年代经历了多次行政区划调整，1958年属盖尾公社。1984年设瑞沟村民委员会，隶属盖尾乡，1992年改属盖尾镇。[3]

名胜古迹[edit]

旧厝自然村的瑞沟陈氏祠堂始建于明嘉靖年间，清代遭火灾后重建，1991年与2001年局部修缮。祠堂前廊檐柱刻有一副对联，门簪与抱鼓石雕工精美。2020年12月，该祠堂列入「仙游县第九批县级文物保护单位」。[4]

文化[edit]

2012年，该村获得文明村称号。村中曾被评为农廉示范村，村级党务与村务公开也较为规范。[1]
