南宝峰社区位于盖尾镇木兰溪南岸，是盖尾镇人民政府的所在地，也是全镇政治、文化与经济的中心。该地2015年由村改为社区。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

新中国成立前，此地归香北乡管辖。1955年划入盖尾区，1958年设盖尾公社，当时称宝树宫，人民公社时期改称宝峰大队。[2]

1984年改设南宝峰村民委员会，隶属盖尾乡；2015年4月村改为社区，仍属盖尾镇。[2]

地名由来[edit]

此地原由两个旧村合并，各取一字组成“宝峰”。后为与鲤城的北宝峰相区别，改称南宝峰。[3]

经济[edit]

农业以果树为主，出产龙眼、枇杷、芒果与香蕉。沿宝石公路两侧建起了楼房，形成宝石街商品街。[1]

文化[edit]

2000年至2004年间，该村被评为仙游县文明村；2004年又被莆田市授予文明村称号。[1]
