前埔村在赖店镇南部，村名的来历与地貌有关：村子位于洪山之前，据博雅地名网所载，千年以前这里还是海面，后来变成草埔，「前埔」即由此得名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

中华人民共和国成立前，此地称前埔，属城南乡。1950年属乌墩区前埔乡，1952年属山尾区溪埔乡。1956年农业合作化时成立前光高级社，1958年归赖店公社三埔乡，1962年改为赖店公社前埔大队。1984年10月设立前埔村村民委员会，1992年起属赖店镇。[1]

文化[edit]

2024年1月，前埔村被命名为「2023年福建省卫生村」。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

前埔陈氏民居在茅洋一带，赖店前埔遗址位于村中，两处都是仙游县一般不可移动文物点，后者为古遗址。[1]
