土山社区位于赖店镇的中心区，地名原作「塗山」，因北宋时期一座寺院而得名，后改写为土山。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

北宋时期，即1060年，乡贡进士傅机由上亭迁居牛山云阳，筑起义阳堂，后裔在此聚居繁衍。当地修有一座寺院，名为「塗山寺」，村名遂由此而来，后改为土山。[1]

宋朝时此地属修德乡，明清隶属永兴里，民国归城南乡，解放前则归孝仁乡管辖。解放初期，这里几经改划，先后属一区、二区，又划入山尾区的涂山乡，1956年改隶城关区赖店乡。1958年成为赖店（仙南）公社的土山大队；1984年设塗山村委会。2020年5月6日改称土山居委会，仍隶赖店镇。[1]

文化[edit]

土山社区于2021年11月获评「2021年福建省卫生村」，评定单位为福建省爱卫办；2021年3月，它入选「莆田市第十五届市级文明村镇（社区）」。[1]
