东山村位于仙游县城南部，相距县城约3.5公里。东侧邻接赖店镇，西侧与象坂村为界，北面连着城南开发区，南面靠近古洋水库。村域土地面积2.3平方千米，下设十三个村民小组、六个自然村。[1]

村名原为东屏山村，因李氏宗祠背靠小山、古树成屏而得名，后改称东山村。已故国画家李霞是本村人。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明清时期归仙游县；1941年改隶嘉禾乡的孝仁里，里中分出东山保、横塘保、玉西保三保。原属仙游县赖店镇管辖，后划归鲤南镇。[1]
