象运村位于鲤南镇南部龙岗山麓，东与东山村交界，西与象林村毗邻，辖十三个自然村，以林姓为主。村域面积4.15平方千米。[3][4]

村名来自地形：元朝后至元六年（1340年）定基立村，因山势似象而得名“象运”。2002年9月划归鲤南镇。[1][2][3]

历史沿革[edit]

元朝后至元六年（1340年）始建村落。中华人民共和国成立后归龙华区；1958年设龙华公社下属的象运生产大队；象运村村委会设立于1984年10月；2002年9月，因行政区域调整，村庄划入鲤南镇。[1][3]

人文与名人[edit]

据博雅地名网，村中林姓族人以进士林豫为先人，他官拜河北沿边安抚使，最终官至中奉大夫。民国时期海军东海舰队旅长林寿国也出自本村。[2]

博雅地名网称，村民较早经营皮革加工，因而被称为首家皮革村。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

象运林寿国故居在下祠堂，同村有林氏祠堂、龙盘宫，另有茅知至夫妇墓，该墓属县级文物第四批名单。林寿国故居、林氏祠堂和龙盘宫均为仙游县一般不可移动文物点。[1]

村中的龙盘宫供奉妈祖，宫前有成双的石狮与石龙。[2]
