霞苑社区处在仙游县城南侧，夹在木兰溪南岸与苦溪东岸之间，属鲤南镇，离县城中心很近。三郊公路穿境而过，地势平坦，面积约4平方千米。[1][2]

地名来自境内的霞苑山祠堂。2020年5月6日由村改为社区。[1][3]

人口与姓氏[edit]

社区共1000多户、4000多人，下辖22个村民小组，未注年份。居民以张姓为主，另有郭氏回族二十余户。[2][3]

历史沿革[edit]

明代至民国，此地归仙游嘉禾乡孝仁里。1950年后设立霞苑大队；霞苑村委会成立于1984年；2020年5月6日改为社区。[1]

据博雅地名网，入霞始祖于公元1374年由莆田笏石横塘迁来，此后张氏在本地繁衍六百余年。[2]

祠堂与文化[edit]

霞苑张祠内悬有“百忍堂”扁额，博雅地名网称为唐高宗御笔。霞山祠、潘山宫和后源堂均建于清道光二十五年（1845年），至今保存较完好。[2]

2003年，村调解委员会被评为「市级先进调委会」。[2]

荣誉[edit]

福建省爱卫办于2021年11月授予霞苑社区「2021年福建省卫生村」称号。[1]
