阳谷村在郊尾镇南部，324国道穿村而过。村子南侧与枫亭镇接界，西邻染厝村，东面与新和、沙溪相接，北面靠着郊尾街居委会。地形以丘陵为主，海拔25米。[1]

村名的来历：宋初设旸谷里，以里名作村名；明万历五年（1577年）因杨氏聚居，又称杨寨，与旸谷里两个名字并存。杨氏宗祠的一副楹联中有“阳谷”二字，村名后改称阳谷。[1][4]

截至2024年，村中户籍人口为3761人，下设4个自然村和11个村民小组。2024年1月，村子获评「2023年福建省卫生村」。[4][1]

历史沿革[edit]

清道光元年（1821年）称旸谷里。1940年起隶沙沟乡，归枫亭区管辖；1943年划入香田乡，1947年又成为香南乡下的旸谷保。新中国成立初年，村子先在香南乡，之后并入仙游县第三区（驻枫亭）；1952年转入第四区（驻郊尾），1956年归郊尾区。[3]

1956年，旸谷与沙溪、染厝、新和合并为旸谷乡；1958年，四村重新分开，旸谷成立大队，隶属郊尾公社。[3]

1942年，闽南特委派林汝南、黄国珍、刘佐周等人到客厅自然村组织群众，开展革命活动；1947年6月，村中建立党组织。1985年，上级确认旸谷为革命老区基点村。[1][4]

村下辖公所、顶寨、过溪、山头四个自然村。[1][2]

文化[edit]

村中至今留有拜月亭书院遗址和西林寺等文化遗迹。[4]

名胜古迹[edit]

杨寨交通站旧址位于客厅自然村。抗战胜利之后，仙游一带的革命力量还比较单薄，中共闽中特委为了尽快重建当地党组织，派黄国珍以特派员身份来仙游指导工作。[1]

旸谷杨氏宗祠位于客厅自然村，建于明万历年间（1573年至1619年），清代重建，1997年重修。宗祠坐东北朝西南，单进合院式，为土木结构。[1]

旸谷兴漳宫在公所，属古建筑，为仙游县第五（二期）批县级文物保护单位；旸谷杨瑶屏旧居在顶寨，属古建筑，为仙游县一般不可移动文物点。[1]
