埕边村位于郊尾镇规划区中北部，北面依傍牛岗山，平均海拔35米。村子与后沈、长安、三埔、郊尾街相接。[1]
村名有两种说法。一说聚居区地形像鼎，方言中“鼎”与“埕”同音，故称埕边（据百度百科）；博雅地名网另记古时此地为东海滩涂的边缘，先民以养蛏为业，“蛏”与“埕”同音。[1][3]
2024年1月，村子获评「2023年福建省卫生村」。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
979年（公元）时，仙游已设四乡、二十六里，埕边隶属其中的香田里。1949年新中国成立后改设区公所，属枫亭区；1950年与后沈、长安合设三和乡。1956年6月，埕边与东湖、后沈、长安合设埕边乡；1958年9月改为埕边大队。1984年设埕边村村民委员会，隶属郊尾乡，1985年3月改属郊尾镇。[1][2]
村下辖嵛头、双友、源和、明和四个自然村。[1]
文化[edit]
许姓先人在元末明初从晋江马坪迁到此地。村中至今仍有乾隆年间的“贡元”匾额，以及两对旗杆石。[3]
名胜古迹[edit]
埕边郑元善旧居在岑头自然村，属古建筑，为仙游县一般不可移动文物点。[1]
