伍狮村位于郊尾镇西部，东边连着古店村，西北与赖店镇的溪埔、新周、前埔、象岭诸村相邻，南面接壤枫亭镇的山头、霞社两村。村子海拔170米。[1][2]

境内有五座山形如狮，所以叫伍狮。村名此前也写作梧楼或黄岭。[1]

2021年12月，村子被确定为「福建省第二批高级版绿盈乡村（乡镇）」；2024年1月，获评「2023年福建省卫生村」。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清代村子隶属慈孝里；民国时与塘边并为伍塘保，归慈孝乡。1950年属第三区，1951年改属十二区伍塘乡，1952年设伍狮乡，隶第四区。1956年划归郊尾区，1958年并入郊尾公社。[1]

1946年，中共仙游县委派人在村中发动群众，开展革命活动。1984年改设伍狮村民委员会，隶属郊尾乡，1985年3月属郊尾镇。[1]

据百度百科，村中保存着南宋诗人王迈的故居；村里的主导产业是果蔬种植。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

伍狮王迈旧居位于黄岭王自然村，属古建筑，为仙游县一般不可移动文物点。[1][2]
