上昆社区位于榜头镇南部，坐落于天马山脚下，艺都迎宾路贯穿而过，是榜头镇的南大门。[1]
地名[edit]
旧时上昆与下昆合称“昆头”。后来按地势划分为两个村，因地势较高而取名上昆。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
建国前，此地归兰溪乡管辖。此后曾先后划入二区、五区，1956年归榜头区管，1958年并入榜头公社，1984年改设上昆村民委员会。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2021年3月，社区被确定为「莆田市第十五届市级文明村镇（社区）」。2025年6月，社区被认定为「2025年莆田市“一村一品”专业村」，主导产业为嘉宝果。[1]
