下昆社区位于仙游县东南部、榜头镇南部，东倚天竺山，西临木兰溪，离仙游县城约8公里，距榜头镇政府约4公里。[1]

地名[edit]

民国时期此地称“崑头”。中华人民共和国成立后，1952年崑头乡改组，析分出下昆生产大队，归榜头人民公社管辖。1984年10月改为下昆村民委员会。因读音相同，此地又被写作“下崑”或“下坤”。[1]

自然环境[edit]

社区地势平坦，仙水溪与木兰溪在此交汇。社区辖内有四个自然村，17个村民小组。[1]
