山头村隶属福建省莆田市仙游县枫亭镇，位于镇西南部，是枫亭镇的半山区，距镇政府5公里。境内的大帽山为全镇最高峰。[1]

村名取自民国时期的两个自然村：山林与隔头合并为一保，各取一字，合称山头。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

宋至明代，此地属慈孝里；清代属枫亭巡司，民国时属慈孝乡公所管辖。[2]

新中国成立初至1956年5月，此地先隶园庄十二区，名为山头乡。1958年4月取消区级建制、并乡后，此地改归枫亭乡。1961年复称山头大队，1984年起属枫亭镇，改称山头村民委员会。[2]

2014年，村委会搬到旧址后面约30米处。[2]

地理环境[edit]

村境东西向较长，境内有大帽山，为全镇最高峰。[1]

1965年开工建造红星水库，历时四年完工，蓄水量103万立方米。[1]

文化[edit]

村中寺庙有西隐岩、紫峰寺、碧泉寺与紫林岩，尼庵有福元堂与真元堂。[1]

村中有宋代欧煦宰相府第遗址，以及明清时期用山石围筑的金碧寨、五坪寨与大帽寨三座山寨。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

紫峰寺一带的军事会议会址在山头村安岭自然村。1949年4月，仙德游击队在紫峰寺（红岭寺）隐蔽，此处为革命旧址。[4]
