霞桥社区位于福建省莆田市仙游县枫亭镇东南部，在枫慈溪入海处，距镇政府约1公里。[1]

社区一带原称下桥。因方言里「下」与「霞」读音相近，遂改称霞桥。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

宋至清，霞桥属连江里。民国时期它与霞街合为一保，称双霞保；中华人民共和国成立后两地合成一乡，名为双霞乡。[2]

1950年划入第三区，1956年改隶枫亭区，1958年并入枫亭公社。1961年成为霞桥大队；1984年12月组建居委会，隶枫亭乡。2000年起称社区居民委员会，归枫亭镇。[2]

文化[edit]

自宋代以来，社区居民每年正月都办元宵游灯。明代时游灯在农历正月十三日举行，参加者多为薛姓居民。[1]

灵慈庙供奉妈祖，庙内有清代画家林肇祺绘制的壁画；薛氏宗祠保存薛氏先祖与乡贤的画像。据百度百科，社区现存薛氏祠堂、灵慈庙等县级文物保护单位4处。[1][4]

著名人物[edit]

境内历代有薛氏人物，宋代有薛奕、薛元鼎，明代有薛大丰。据博雅地名网，至清朝止，历代在霞桥登进士第者共16人。[1]
