十字社区位于仙游县鲤城街道西南部，因田埂底一带呈“十”字形的街道而得名。[1]

东面紧挨洪桥社区，西侧与木兰社区相邻；北侧是龙泉社区，南面隔着溪流与鲤南镇的霞苑村相对。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

唐朝初期此地归清源镇。宋朝至清朝，这里叫西门外，归嘉禾乡功建里。会仙一带在民国以前属于孝仁里，即如今的赖店镇。[2]

民国时，此地划出永淳、永正、宁福、石峰、太平5个保，归中山镇。1949年底，5个保改作5个街，归仙游县第一区管辖。[2]

1952年7月，这里改名十字街居委会，管辖关系不变。1958年9月，石源、十字两个高级社与星耀合并为跃进大队。1961年12月，十字街居委会重新设立。[2]

1968年10月，这里一度改名五星街革命领导小组。1981年1月恢复为十字街居委会；2002年12月，改为十字社区居委会，划入鲤城街道。[2]

文化[edit]

2015年3月，十字社区被认定为「第三批国家级充分就业社区」。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

字十八战抗倭旧址在爱国居民小组，十字天地坛在社区内的天地坛处，二者均列为「仙游县第一批县级文物保护单位」。[3]

十字西亭宫在会仙村，同样属于「仙游县第一批县级文物保护单位」。[3]
