木兰社区位于仙游县城西部的木兰溪畔，在鲤城街道办事处西南方向约3里处。社区原称木兰街，名字来自贯穿辖区的木兰溪。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

唐朝时，此地归清源镇辖；宋至清代称嘉禾乡孝仁里。[3]

民国期间，这一带归中山镇，分设茅亭、兴福、会山3个保。1949年底保制撤销、改设为街道；1952年，3条街合并，定名木兰街。[3]

1977年，此处成为木兰街大队；1968年的“文化大革命”期间，它一度名为红星街革命领导小组。1982年，木兰街社区居委会得以设立；2003年，该居委会更名为木兰社区居委会，划归鲤城街道。[3]

文化[edit]

2006年，福建省委、省政府授予木兰社区「省级文明社区」称号；2021年，中共中央授予其「全国先进基层党组织」称号。[2]

2021年2月，木兰社区名列「福建省2018-2020年度省级文明村镇社区」名单。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

木兰节孝坊在和平路八卦石巷。乾隆四十九年（1784年），当地为表彰陈配侯之妻林氏的节孝而建此石坊，坊为两柱亭式牌楼。[4]

木兰养性堂为「仙游县第五（一期）批县级文物保护单位」，木兰林敬斋墓为「仙游县第四批县级文物保护单位」。[4]
