后海管理局是福建省莆田市秀屿区的一个类似乡级单位，[2]全称莆田市后海围垦管理局，属于莆田市海洋与渔业局之下的事业机构，职责包括管护后海一带的海堤、规划垦区开发。[1]后海围垦区位于兴化湾南岸。[3]
历史沿革[edit]
围垦工程从1977年开始施工，至1992年完工，垦区面积计3.03万亩，沿堤修筑的海堤长2430米。[3]
地理环境[edit]
垦区所在地同时连着荔城区的北高镇，并与秀屿区的埭头镇、东峤镇相接。[3]
经济[edit]
垦区的性质为现代渔业产业园，发展生态养殖与休闲渔业，主要养殖花蛤和对虾，并通过科技小院推广绿色生态混养。[1][3]垦区是「国家级水产健康养殖和生态养殖示范区」的核心示范区，“后海花蛤”获评「福建名牌农产品」。[3]
