东潘社区位于月塘镇东南部，东临平海湾，南依温郑山，西与双告山村相接，北与洋埭村相邻。村民多为潘姓，故名东潘。2019年1月，经秀屿区人民政府批复设立社区居民委员会。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1949年解放之初，此地属下塘东埭乡；1958年归忠门公社，成为东塘大队。2019年，秀屿区人民政府批准在此设立东潘社区居民委员会。[1]
地理环境[edit]
村域濒海，一条天然河道自境内穿过，向东注入平海湾。气候属亚热带季风气候，冬夏较长，春秋较短。[1]
文化[edit]
东潘社区于2021年11月获福建省爱卫办授予「2021年福建省卫生社区」称号，2023年11月获认定为「2023年度莆田市中级版绿盈乡村」，2023年12月获命名为「2023年度福建省森林村庄」。[1]
