西乌垞村是山亭镇下辖的行政村。「乌垞」是祖先开家立业之地，此村因位于乌垞的西边而得名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明清两代此地为兴化府新安里的一部分。民国时它是下塘区西埔乡下的乌垞村，建国后改设下塘区山亭乡乌垞村；1958年转入忠门人民公社乌垞大队。1998年拆村后定名西乌垞村，仍属莆田县山亭乡。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2024年1月，西乌垞村被命名为「2023年福建省卫生村」。2022年10月，经福建省农业农村厅认定为「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」。[1]
