西前社区是山亭镇下辖的社区，原为西沙、院前两村，合并后各取一字为名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明代已有聚落。1958年此地属沙港公社西沙生产组，1964年西沙大队并入莆禧大队，1986年又分为莆禧、西沙两个大队。1998年山亭设乡，此地改为村委会，其后以西前社区之名称。[1]
