历史沿革[edit]
村落始建于宋代。1958年归莆田县忠门公社管辖，1961年改属湄洲公社；1984年起设村委，1992年改属湄洲镇，2002年归入秀屿区湄洲镇。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
湄洲妈祖祖庙又称湄洲天后宫，宋雍熙四年（987年）始建，天圣年间已具规模。[1][2]文化大革命期间庙宇大多被毁，1978年后由民间筹款重建，1989年基本完成。[2]
文化[edit]
2015年10月，入选「福建省第一批省级传统村落」名单。[1]2020年11月与2023年11月，两度被认定为莆田市中级版「绿盈乡村」；2021年12月，被确定为「福建省第二批高级版绿盈乡村（乡镇）」。[1]2021年3月，获评「莆田市第十五届市级文明村镇（社区）」。[1]2024年12月，上榜「2024年福建省儿童友好社区」名单。[1]
