名称由来[edit]
村庄原名欧叶，欧姓与另一姓氏聚居于此。后来两姓相继迁走，福清中头的扬姓迁入，遂把村名由欧叶改为后叶。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
此地在宋元隶感德乡南匿里，明清隶四区南匿里。民国初归省府直接管辖，民国23年（1934年）属福清县九区，民国24年至25年改属南日镇特种区，民国29年划归莆田县南日镇。[2]
1949年属十三区后叶村，1950年属十三区岩下乡，1952年至1954年改隶二十四区后叶乡，1954年至1955年称二十四区（南日）后叶乡，1956年划入南日区后叶乡。1957年为南日镇后叶高级村，1958年为南日公社后叶大队，1984年改设南日后叶村委会。[1][2]
村况[edit]
村委会统辖1个自然村，下设3个村民小组。全村275户、1305人，博雅地名网未注年份。村落呈长廊形。[2]
耕地150亩，甘薯与大小麦为主，兼种大豆、花生；林地80亩，以木麻黄与相思树为主。土特产有三角鱼与虾皮。村内有小学与医疗所，有电灯，水陆交通便利，有客车。[2]
荣誉[edit]
2021年12月，村庄被确定为「2021年度福建省“一村一品”示范村」，主导产品为龙须菜。[1]
